MM3333 Homework week 2

My target audience

When this assignment was explained in class, I thought we were suppose to identify a specific industry to target. I got this idea because the example, children’s clothing, is very specific. After perusing my classmates blogs, I see that it is alright to target potential employers and other designers. With that in mind, the target audience for my web site will be other designers, my teachers and potential employers. I am particularly interested in working for a design firm or a company that is large enough to have a design department–as opposed to one graphic designer.  I am especially interested in front-end web design.

To attract this audience, I will keep my design clean and uncluttered so that the focus is on my work. The portfolio web sites that I admire the most achieve this by not displaying too much information at a time. The graphics on these sites are elegant and minimal. Also, the navigation on these sites is clear and intuitive. So to appeal to my target audience I plan to build a web site that meets these standards.

MM3333 Homework week 1

Here is my homework for week one. Two proposed designs for my portfolio site. I have included a flowchart to show where navigational elements will lead. I have you considered my target audience and chose to target the travel industry.
